ABOUT ME

Professional Coaching for Expat Women

I'm an Australian expatriate who moved from the East Coast of Australia to the urban elegance of lovely Madrid.

I'm also an ICF Accredited Professional Certified Coach with more than 20 years experience working with professional people as a team leader, manager and strategy specialist in large human services organisations.

Here's some of what I've learned.

TLDR: Professional success abroad doesn't have to leave you exhausted!

A lot of coaching, sometimes called ‘C-suite coaching’ or ‘executive coaching’ or ‘leadership coaching’,  reinforces the ‘working and wanting’ approach to getting ahead …

… it can sustain the ‘girl boss’ stereotype that leaves us all overworked, underwhelmed and exhausted.

I believe that, for most women, this version of success doesn’t work.

For most of us our dreams are different.

For us our best life includes the time and space that allows us to:

• Find ‘our’ people – the ones that that give us hope and hold up a mirror to our best selves
• Build relationships and families with people who’ll join us in our best life
• Care for our bodies and minds – investing in our wellbeing now and for tomorrow
• Wander and wonder - exploring the world around and within us

In our best life we limit our exposure to:

• People who drain our energy
• Possessions that take up space without real purpose
• Motion without meaning

In our best we lives can stay present with the ups and downs of each day because we know that this day is part of the bigger story.

There's a lot of noise about coaching ... variations and specialities ... but...

Coaching is just conversation…

• Where you experience someone listening deeply to you (very rare for most of us)
• Where there’s no expectation of reciprocity (it’s all about you)
• Where you can share those things that run in your head (when you’re awake at 3am)
• Where you can talk about your bold dream (with someone who won’t laugh or criticise)
• Where you plan the journey to get there (and try things that get you moving towards it)
• Where you experience compassionate accountability for your choices and actions towards the things that matter to you.

That’s all.

If this sounds like you let's talk.
