It sounds like a pipedream … but what have you got to lose?

Stay with me for just 2 minutes (the length of this read according to LinkedIn) and I promise you you’ll finish with at least 1 idea that will help you answer these questions.
So … what have you got to lose?
Possibly …
Working 12-hour days on repeat without really understanding why
Exhaustion that creates persistent brain-fog
Sleeplessness that you try to manage with wine and late-night Netflix
No time for friends/fun or finding community
I could go on …
But (I hear you say) I need to do what I do because:
I want to stand out to get ahead so I need to put in the hours
My boss constantly encourages me to do more if I want to progress
I need to keep going for a few more months until things settle
I’ll get take time to get fit/make connections/enjoy myself when work slows down
I can't see any other option
What you might notice is that all the above involve waiting for something outside you to change.
The truth is that they’re all thing that are not in your control.
What can you control?
Just 2 things:
Your mindset
Your decisions
WHY DO I SAY THIS?
As a Professional Coach working with Expat Women I know that wherever you go these 2 things always remain within your control.
These two things together are absolutely always within your sphere of influence and can be harnessed to create your personal version of achievable success.
So, this is the part where you’ll find the 1 idea (at least) that will be useful:
Here are 5 mindset shifts that will move you towards a 2026 in which you succeed on your own terms:I can define success rather than let others tell me what it is
I can zoom out on my life to see all the parts that are important to me
I can decide my priorities for 2026
I can make a plan that is doable and lets me see the changes I’m making
I can create and confidently share clear boundaries
As you read these, they may seem huge and unachievable, which I get, but the good news about mindset shift, is that …
Big change happens incrementally in the many, (seemingly) tiny decisions we all make every day …Slowing down .... when you speak, move and think
Pausing before answering a question
Doing one thing at a time
Speaking about yourself and your work in balanced and positive way
Catch yourself when you're using the words 'sorry' and 'I just'
.... until one day you look back and can't imagine the person you were.
Together mindset shift and decision-making will take you a long way towards the clarity, confidence, energy and connection you are seeking.
They will help you decide and create success on your own terms in 2026.
